Varco, Aberdeen

Ambius were given the opportunity to work in this stunning office building in Aberdeen. The objective from the client was to make the areas more welcoming for both staff and visitors and to have a modern, but outdoors feel in those areas.

We used large 5m Ficus trees in the atrium at the staff restaurant, thus creating an oasis for staff to relax in during their break periods and the feeling of sitting in a street café, without leaving the building.

Our designers went for a blob and curvy style of planter for the trees and plants, giving the area a more modern feel while incorporating the bright colours from the company logo. Various planting was used at different heights in an attempt to recreate the variation in nature and to create the feeling of being outdoors.
