When choosing a hotel to stay in, we usually look at its star rating, reviews, what the rooms look like and which facilities are on offer. Another feature which often plays a big part in the selection process however, are the hotel exteriors.

Hotel exterior

They say that first impressions count and when you’re trying to attract people to your venue, nothing could be more true. Below are just a few examples of hotel exteriors from around the world which have nailed this concept and are highly impressive.

Ashford Castle, Ireland

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we all have romance on our minds so where better to head to than the most romantic hotel in Europe? Set amongst 350 acres of ancient woodland on the picturesque shores of Lough Corrib and boasting plenty of original features which date all the way back to 1228, it’s easy to see why Ashford Castle has won this title.

As well as an incredibly impressive exterior, the venue has won multiple awards including Ireland’s Best Hotel Spa and The Best Resort Hotel in the UK and Ireland. It’s also one of the country’s most exclusive wedding venues with the likes of Pierce Brosnan choosing to walk down the aisle here.

The Apostrophe Hotel, Paris

Any hotel in Paris is of course going to provide the perfect setting for a romantic Valentine’s getaway. The Apostrophe Hotel goes the extra mile with its unique and fancy exterior which boasts a mural of a tree which overlooks the front of the building. It’s at night the hotel becomes particularly striking however because coloured lights illuminate the beautifully designed façade.

Inntel Hotel, Amsterdam

This four-star hotel is built up from a varied and lively stacking consisting of almost seventy individual houses. From labourer’s cottages to town houses, each property is an example of the traditional homes which can be found in the Zaan region. The façade of The Inntel Hotel is striking and truly unforgettable, the perfect place to go if you’re looking to impress.

Thorngrove Manor, Australia

With its fairytale-like exterior, Thorngrove Manor provides the ultimate romantic setting and it’s easy to see why it’s a recipient of so many awards.

Described as one of the world’s most outstanding, romantic and artistic properties, it boasts unique, creative and inspired architecture which encompasses a captivating style and contemporary influence. It really is a true fusion of architecture, boutique accommodation and the decorative arts.

The castle-inspired towers and fantastic turrets are just the beginning however as the interior is just as impressive. Boasting one-of-a-kind antiques, winding staircases and escapist artwork, you really will feel like you’re in your very own fairytale.

The Megaro Hotel, London

It may be a bit late to jet off abroad for Valentine’s Day so if you’re looking for something a bit closer to home, head to the Megaro Hotel in King’s Cross, London. Boasting a youthful, graffiti-inspired style exterior, this boutique hotel is particularly eye-catching. Its signature ‘Marmite’ mural was painted in 2012 by four members of street art collective, Agents of Chang and is a must-see for art lovers.
