The brief
Our client, a major pharmaceuticals company, needed their site entrance at one of their factories to be made more welcoming, especially as the site had been redevloped and was due for an 'official' opening. Ugly industrial equipment needed to be screened and the entrance had to better reflect the image of a major blue-chip organization, rather than a down-at-heel construction site.
The solution
The area around the entrance to the site was completly landscaped. As well as a new lawn, shrub beds featuring hardy, colourful plants with year-round interest were created. Fast-growing climbers were planted to help screen an ugly metal fence and draw the eye away from the pipework that is visible behind it. Sculptural stones, set among the plants provide added interest.

The results
A dramatic transformation was achieved in very hostile weather during the autumn of 2006. The client is very pleased with the results, which has led to further work being comissioned from Ambius. As the plants mature and grow, this calm oasis in the heart of an industrial area will provide a welcome to the factory and a habitat for local wildlife.
