Autumn has arrived: how should you maintain your grounds?

Autumn grounds maintenance

As the leaves brown and the sun fades to a dull afternoon-orange, there’s little doubt about it – autumn has arrived, and your landscaping plans will have to change with the seasons.

That doesn’t mean your garden will be like the greys of winter.

Instead, as though your foliage is having a last hurrah before the big freeze, it’ll be filled with rich browns, bright oranges and, if you’ve planted the right trees, a colourful selection of berries and fruits that’ll attract a variety of birds.

With the right foliage – deciduous rhododendrons, Japanese maples and climbers are good choices – your grounds will be treated to a mass of colours more vivid than a psychedelic Dulux wall chart.

But the level of grounds maintenance necessary for businesses will also reach its peak in those near-winter months. As the volume of fallen leaves and rainfall increases, you’ll have to rake, compost and remove moss more regularly, not to mention prevent rust forming on your tools.

Add in digging out weeds and de-scaling your pond, on top of actually running your business, and you’ll have your work cut out for you.

But fear not. Our grounds maintenance teams have your outdoor spaces covered, with the skills for lawn-mowing, grass seeding, pruning, planting, weed control, pond maintenance and much more. Trust us – we’ll make your building exterior beautiful all year round.
