Ambius, the world leader in enhancing buildings through planting, scenting and artwork, has created a peaceful courtyard garden for the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Pall Mall. The new garden acts as an extension of the IoD’s Brasserie at 116 Pall Mall and complements the interior planting schemes, designed and installed by Ambius. IoD members can now enjoy an oasis of calm in the heart of the West End, for informal meetings or a break from a busy day.

The courtyard garden features seasonal planting and striking troughs creating a stylish and contemporary space for members to use. The design also includes hanging plants, which echo the planting scheme used by Ambius in the restaurant area.

Ian Sparrow, Director of Hospitality at the IoD says, “Ambius has helped turn a previously underutilised area into a much loved destination for our members where they can enjoy drinks and a light lunch. Offering a haven from the bustle of the West End, the garden has become our hidden gem this summer. Cleverly the design scheme complements in the interior planting creating a natural flow between inside and out.”

Lynne Rushen, Ambius’ Award winning designer behind the new courtyard garden adds: “Courtyard gardens can lack light at certain times of the day, so it’s important to select plants that can thrive in that environment. We worked closely with the IoD to ensure we met their high standards, using our creativity and expertise to deliver an attractive outside space that complements the grandeur of 116 Pall Mall.”
